Community Development

In USA, Community development is the work of building and sustaining neighborhoods. It brings opportunity and services to bear on behalf of residents and businesses in a defined neighborhood.

Community development activities build stronger and more resilient communities. To support community development, activities are identified through an ongoing process. Activities may address needs such as infrastructure, economic development projects, public facilities installation, community centers, housing rehabilitation, public services, clearance/acquisition, microenterprise assistance, code enforcement, homeowner assistance, etc. Federal support encourages systematic and sustained action by state and local governments.

UCF is concerned with bringing solutions for healthcare (under community development we look into various components which contribute towards the overall community development by engaging communities and stakeholders at grass-root level with involvement of the communities and all stakeholders. We are providing a broad array of services in the healthcare sector including education, economic empowerment, and social work with main focus on the primary care tier of the healthcare system. Still, we aim to implement a collaborative approach to achieve the objectives with community participation and inclusion of all stakeholders to go extra mileage. Considering that lack of adequate knowledge about healthcare, educational and economic opportunities, lack of awareness about available resources with local, state and federal government, are the main impediments in implementing the best practices to improve and transform the quality of life of underserved communities, we endeavor to mainstream self-care by disseminating education and awareness regarding healthcare. UCF envisions the following measures for community development:

  • To improve health literacy by carrying out campaigns for community education
  • Imparting education to communities with offline and online means, such as workshops, seminars, conferences, outreach events and so on.
  • The initiative for community education will involve social work and public health sectors.
  • Technology-driven healthcare and community development solutions.
  • Capacity building initiative and connecting the skilled and trained youth with reliable employer/agencies
  • Assist communities to avail benefits available through Texas Community Partners Program and improve their livelihood

Outreach Event

We organize outreach events to connect our practices and ideas to the efforts of other groups, organizations, general public, or specific audiences with the primary objective is to promote health awareness and health education among communities. These events provide opportunities to the communities to get reliable health information, share their issues and challenges and avail information about resources available at local, state and federal level. Outreach events provide a platform to the communities to build long term relationships with UCF and get access and support as and when needed.

UCF along with partner organizations conducts various sessions in English, Spanish, Gujrati and Hindi languages to disseminate information about health, education, food distribution, disaster risk management, important linkages and connection.

UCF will continue to hold outreach events to further propagate the health education and help communities to take timely action/s and save their families and communities at large.
